These sellers had listed with 4, count them FOUR other real estate companies before, and none of them could get it sold. They had a huge house, decent barn and a large shop, on just about 5 acres. There was so much going for this property. But, it was not marketed properly before. Clearly, or it would have sold.
I had the privilege of meeting this nice couple after they were given my name and number by someone else that had sold a house with me. I met with them in the home, they gave me a tour and I reviewed the old listings. Right away I saw several things that needed to change. I discussed the changes with the home owners, and they allowed me to bring in a professional stager, Margaret Oscillia of Creative Concepts and Contracting of Salem, Oregon. They were willing to take Margaret’s advice, well, most of it. We took an extra 3 weeks before putting the property on the market, to allow time for the projects to be completed, and new photos to be taken. After all, if the pictures don’t look good, who is going to want to come see the house?
Long story short, we had the house listed 2 days, had 6 showings, and 2 offers. This was after 4 agents, from 4 different companies did not produce an offer. In fact, if my memory serves me well, they said they only had 2 showings during those 4 listings.
