While fewer homes were sold this January compared to January in 2012, the median sales price increased from $279,900 to $295,000. Does this mean that buyers have missed the “bottom” of the market? It’s likely, but prices are still much less than they were in 2008.
Acreage real estate around Marion County Oregon has struggled the last 4 years or so, but the market has improved over the last year, mostly due to low interest rates and low property values. Over the last 4 months we have noticed a shortage of inventory, which will continue to drive the prices up as the demand grows. This is great news for sellers of course, as they can try to recover some of that “lost” equity since 2008. If you are a buyer, better find something quick before prices completely recover!
