Whether you ride, study or just watch dressage, there are a number of facilities that offer venues for these activities. The Oregon Dressage Society organizes into regions of the state: North covering the Portland Metro area to the coast, Central covering the Salem and Willamette Valley area, East is all areas east of the Cascade Mountains and South is everything south of the Willamette Valley. They post a monthly schedule of events that include rides, shows, clinics and other age-related activities. Membership is encouraged for the added benefits it offers.
The Central Oregon Dressage Society is based in Bend, Oregon. It focuses on more local activities but also offers shows March through October. With all the other wonderful outdoor activities in and near Bend, why not stop by one of their Dressage shows too
DevonWood Equestrian Center in Sherwood, Oregon is a premier dressage facility offering a variety of shows, clinics and other events throughout the year. The Anne Gribbons Clinic will be featured March 10-11. Lilo Fore will arrive March 30-31 for her clinic. Check their schedule for an extensive list of activities.
Templeton Equestrian Center in Oregon City, Oregon highlights training lessons and clinics at their facility. Check with the owner for a current list of offerings.
Windsor Equestrian Center out of Bend, Oregon offers core riding skills in dressage and jumping. While they don’t sponsor clinics, having their own resident trainer, it is a facility to visit if you live in the area.
The Donida Farm Equestrian Center of Auburn, Washington, is on the way to Seattle. While not local to the Willamette Valley, Oregon, it is a fine equestrian and event facility specializing in dressage, hunter/jumper and schooling shows. The next event there will be February 2, 2013. The deadline for entry is January 28 so jump on that one right away!
