Looking to Appeal Your Property Taxes in Salem Oregon?

Looking to appeal your property tax bill in Salem Oregon?

With falling market values, many Marion County residents are appealing the assessed value of their acreage properties. According to the Marion County Assessor’s website, the deadline to file your 2010-2011 Tax Appeal is December 31st, 2010. The application isn’t long, but it must be filed with the Marion County Clerk, not the assessor’s office.

You will note on the application that you are asked to attach supporting documentation (your neighbor’s market value or his tax liability amount is not enough to support your claim) such as listings or appraisals.  The Board of Property Tax Appeals is looking for your established market value as of January 2010.  I can compile that data for you in a matter of minutes, just shoot me an email with the following information:

  1. Your name
  2. Your address
  3. Description of your property (include size of home, # of bedrooms, bathrooms, age of home, recent updates/remodels, type of heat/AC, # of acres, or lot size, size and description of exterior buildings, driveway paved or gravel, any additions, etc)
  4. Feel free to attach a photo or two of the exterior, but not necessary
  5. Anything else you would like to share about your home

Look forward to helping you!
