Can you hear the thunder? Better yet, can you feel it?

You are standing at the finish line. Thousands of spectators are screaming for their horse as if the louder the decibel the faster the horse. But the best part….not only the sound of 40 hooves pounding past the finish line and the silks of the jockey’s rippling in the speed of the wind, but the thunder you feel by standing so close to the action.

Horse Racing Starts Monday at Portland Meadows

Portland Meadows Live horse racing season open tomorrow, October 4th for their 64th annual season. Post time is at 12:40, and will continue this schedule most Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays until March 30th, 2011.

Admission and parking are both free at Portland Meadows. For opening day, treat yourself to a $12 buffet in the Turf Club.

Don’t miss the “Winning Ticket Radio Show” every Sunday morning at 7:30 with Jason Beem on 95.5 FM for guest interviews and handicap information to help you pick a winner!

Portland Meadows is just another great equine staple in Oregon. While most of us do not own a race horse or participate in the racing industry, we can appreciate it as a spectator. Just another great reason why I love living in the Northwest.
