I will be the first to admit I don’t know a lot about hay. I can tell the difference between Alfalfa and Timothy, straw or Orchard Grass. Or if it is moldy or too stemmy (that is my word, but you get my point). But what about nutritional content? What is my horse really consuming?
I found a website that lists certified labs that will run tests on our hay. Maybe you need your hay anylized too? Start with the National Forage Testing Association.
After all, we need to keep our equines healthy! Quality feed plays a major part in our horse’s performance-in the ring or at home.
