On Saturday I headed to Linn County to show property for sale to perspective buyers. The house with 15 acres was situated North of the town Brownsville by a few miles. The land around the town is absolutely amazing-gentle rolling hills, expansive crop fields, very lush. After the showing, I decided to drive a little further South to get a coffee in town. What a treat! The town is mostly made up of 100 year-old buildings. I parked the truck and got out to explore a little, with my camera of course. Two of the cafes had already closed for the day, so I wandered over to the museum. I got to chatting with the host there and she filled me in from a local’s perspective. Great museum by the way! One of the last 4 wagons that came over on the Oregon trail is on display. I found an open cafe to quench my thirst, across from the Moyer House. I had just missed the last tour of the day, so I will be headed back with my family to take in the rest of the town very soon. If you are looking for a small town in Oregon to live in, I HIGHLY recommend checking Brownsville out.
